What is SentinelBet?

The platform behind Irish bookmakers' websites and shops.

SentinelBet is the betting platform Doveshield builds and runs for bookmakers in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Each operator trades under its own name, colours and licence, while we keep the platform, the data feeds and the hosting running underneath.

Your Brand

Your domain, logo, colours, contact details, currency and legal notices. Customers see your bookmaker, not ours.

Any Sport, Your Markets

Football, rugby, cricket, tennis, racing and more from live feeds, numbers draws alongside, and your own markets for anything the feeds do not carry.

Online and In the Shop

The same bet slip and the same rules on the web and on self-service terminals, with cash in and out on site.

Built for Regulation

Spending limits, self-exclusion, AML risk scoring and the GRAI quarterly return, designed around the Gambling Regulation Act 2024.

Featured customer

BetXS, online and in shops run remotely.

BetXS takes bets online at betxs.bet and in its staffless shops in Kilbeggan and Ballivor, all on SentinelBet. Customers bet on the same markets with the same bet slip, on their phone at home or at a terminal in the shop, while the shops are run remotely with no staff on the floor.

What customers can bet on

Every sport your customers follow, priced and settled from live feeds.

Fixtures, prices and results arrive from live data feeds, and markets close on their own when the event starts. You choose which leagues and markets go live, and your traders can add their own.

Racing and other data sets are subject to the operator's own agreements with the data providers.

Pre-match markets for rugby union, cricket and tennis, with coupon views for rugby.

Fight Nights and Darts

Boxing, MMA and darts, priced and settled from the same feeds.

Horse Racing

Racing from meetings around the world, and antepost, with each-way place terms, starting prices, non-runner deductions, forecasts and tricasts.

Greyhounds and Virtuals

Greyhound racing, and virtual racing that runs and settles around the clock.

Numbers Draws

Lotteries from around the world, including Euro, EuroDreams, 49s, Hong Kong, New York and Australian draws, with First Ball, Bonus Ball, Take 3, Take 5 and Any 3.

Your Own Markets

  • One slip, every channel. The same bet slip runs on the website, on phones and on the shop terminals.
  • Quick to stake. Quick-stake buttons you configure, and a keypad for anything else.
  • Prices that move. Customers are told when a price changes, and can choose to accept the latest price as it moves.
  • Their odds, their way. Fractional or decimal, at the tap of a toggle.
  • A receipt for every slip. Sent by email or SMS, with results and search a tap away.
  • Promotions that shops understand. SP if better on singles and multiples, and double or treble odds on a Lucky 15 with one winner, for a customer, a meeting, a race or a runner.

White label

Your bookmaker, on your domain.

Each brand is set up for you on its own domain. Every page, sign-in screen and email a customer sees carries your name and your details.

Your agents and staff see only your own customers. Several brands can run side by side on the platform, each with its own look, licence and contact details.

  • Look and feel. Logo, favicon, background and your colours, with a sign-in palette that is checked for contrast so it stays readable.
  • Your details. Phone numbers, legal name, company number, address and data protection contacts, shown where the law expects them.
  • Your licence. Your licence references and notice on the site, and a retail privacy notice on your shop terminals.
  • Your currency. Euro, sterling or US dollars, set for each brand.
  • Your emails. Receipts, statements and account emails go out in your brand.
  • Your alerts. Operational alerts can go to your own Slack workspace.

Customer accounts

Customers you know, on accounts that hold up.

Sign-Up Through Your Pages

Customers join through your own landing pages, with a bot check, email confirmation and SMS verification of their mobile.

Online Identity Checks

Photo ID, a liveness selfie and proof of address, checked online before an account can bet.

Two-Factor Sign-In

Authenticator-app codes with recovery codes, required for your administrators and available to every customer.

A Ledger That Balances

Every transaction goes through a double-entry ledger, and the books are checked for integrity every day.

Statements and Data

Activity statements in the account, and a copy of their data for any customer who asks.

Safer gambling

The tools the Gambling Regulation Act asks for, already built.

Customers set their own limits from their account, and the platform holds them to it. Every limit, prompt and answer is recorded, so you can show what was offered and when.

A customer's safer gambling page showing what they staked, what came back, bets placed, time on site, and their winnings, losses and net over the last 30 days
Customers see what they have staked, won and lost, and how long they have spent betting.

Self-exclusion

From 24 hours to permanent. Coming back takes the customer's own confirmation, and attempts to get in during an exclusion are logged.

Spending limits

Once set, a spending limit cannot be raised or removed until its period ends, and a bet that would go over it is refused.

Deposit limits

Daily, weekly or monthly, and a limit cannot be raised until 24 hours after it was last changed.

Betting windows

Customers can choose the hours of the day, or the dates, on which they are able to bet.

Reality checks

Session reminders every 15, 30 or 60 minutes, weekly summaries and a monthly statement in the account and by email.

Safer-gambling reviews

A questionnaire or a call is triggered by a quarterly review or by stake thresholds, and the outcome is recorded.

Published figures

Pages for responsible gambling, customer activity figures and your quarterly return, ready to publish.

Your team told

Each self-exclusion request is raised with your team in Slack as it is made, without the customer's contact details.

Trading and risk

Know your liabilities before the off.

Your traders set the limits, watch the book and step in when a market needs it. Large bets and growing liabilities are raised in Slack the moment they happen, so nobody has to sit and watch.

Market Controls

  • Suspend or reopen an event or market, or stop taking bets on it
  • Switch a race to SP only, or lock a runner's price
  • Feature events and set the order customers see them in
  • Mark winners, losers and non-runners, or hold a result
  • Bet limits. Cap the unit stake, total stake or payout on singles or multiples, for a customer, a group, a sport, an event, a market or a runner.
  • Maximum returns. A ceiling on what any sport can pay out, and on any one slip.
  • Late-bet rules. Decide what happens to a bet struck close to or after the off, and review late bets in their own queue.
  • Liability at a glance. A liability view across your markets, and a field book for each race that warns when a payout grows large.
  • Alerts where you work. Large bets, liabilities and chosen bet placements go to the Slack channels you pick.
  • Customer analysis. See how a customer bets and what prices they take before deciding on their limits.

Settlement, reporting and compliance

Settled on its own. Reported when the regulator asks.

Behind these controls is a compliance register kept alongside the code. Every obligation is traced from the section of law it comes from to the code and tests that meet it.

How we trace each obligation from statute to code

Automatic Settlement

Racing, sport and numbers settle from results feeds as they come in. Anything a feed cannot settle waits in a review queue for a person.

Payouts You Can Explain

Every settlement keeps a record of how its payout was worked out, rule by rule and deduction by deduction.

Reports

Monthly reports, stakes and payouts, slip reports and off-time analysis, with PDFs and nightly emails to the people who need them.

GRAI Quarterly Return

The section 188 quarterly return, produced for each operator as a file ready to submit.

AML Risk Scoring

A risk assessment for every customer, combining what their transactions show with the factors your team records, reviewed every day.

A Full Audit Trail

Changes to customers, markets and settings are recorded, with an audit trail for each account and a log of every sign-in attempt.

AML Training Records

Keep a record of the AML training each member of staff has completed.

Data Retention

Personal data is cleared on a schedule once it no longer has to be kept.

In the shop

Terminals, payout machines and screens on the same platform.

SentinelBet runs the self-service terminals in your shops, so a customer bets on the same markets and under the same limits at the counter, on the terminal and at home.

It pairs with SentinelKiosk terminals, and runs the staffless shops described on our Open for Business page.

  • Cash in at the terminal. Notes and coins go straight onto the customer's credit at the kiosk.
  • Cash to an online account. A customer can move kiosk credit onto their online account, confirmed by SMS.
  • Tickets paid at the machine. Winnings are printed as a barcoded ticket and paid out at the payout machine, and a ticket can only ever be paid once.
  • Only approved terminals. A terminal has to be registered and approved before it can take a bet.
  • Managed from head office. Lock, unlock and reload the terminals in a shop, and print slips remotely.
  • Screens in the shop. Drive the shop's TV screens, with your own adverts between races.

Hosted, Secured and Looked After

We host the platform, deploy every update and keep the data feeds flowing, so your team can trade rather than run servers.

  • Encrypted connections throughout, and identity details encrypted in the database
  • Two-factor sign-in, with a fresh check before sensitive changes
  • Sign-in and sign-up throttled against password guessing and bots
  • Every change tested automatically before it ships
  • Errors tracked with customers' personal data removed

Before You Go Live

You hold the licence and you are the data controller for your customers. We supply the platform and act as your processor under a data processing agreement.

We set up your brand, load your shops and terminals and work through the launch with you. If you are still applying for a licence, our Open for Business programme can help with that too.

Put your bookmaker online and in the shop, under your own name.

SentinelBet gives you the markets, the controls and the reporting, and leaves the trading to you.
